Solitaire Overseas manufactures and exports Incoloy 800 Round Bars (UNS N08800, DIN 1.4876) to ASTM B408 / ASME SB408 and related standards. Alloy 800 is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy created to serve in high-temperature applications in oxidation, carburisation, and sulphidation environments. Its additions of controlled carbon, aluminium and titanium stabilize the microstructure, and resist sensitisation and therefore can be used in long service at temperatures ranging between 600 °C to 900 °C.
As a leading Incoloy 800 round bar supplier, we provide bars in diameters from 3 mm to 800 mm with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates as standard. The Incoloy 800H and 800HT variants (ASTM B408 / SB408) are also available for applications requiring enhanced creep resistance above 900 °C.

Cold forming of Incoloy 800 is performed using procedures similar to those used for Incoloy Alloy 600 and stainless steel grades. The work-hardening rate for Incoloy 800 is higher than mild steel but lower than that of Type 304 stainless steel. The work-hardening rate is also comparable to that of Incoloy 600.
Hot forming is carried out in the temperature range of 1600 to 2200°F (870 to 1200°C). Heavy forging should be performed between 1850°F and 2200°F (1010°C to 1200°C). Forming between 1200 and 1600°F (650–870°C) should be avoided as it may result in cracking.
Cooling after hot forming is not critical for thermal cracking. However, the alloy is susceptible to carbide precipitation in the 1000–1400°F (540–760°C) range and should be cooled rapidly through this range to avoid sensitisation.
Incoloy 800 can be machined using standard methods. Turning operations can be performed with good surface finish and tool life using coated carbide tools. High-speed steel tools are also suitable for interrupted cutting operations.
Typical cutting speeds:
Carbide tools: 110–190 sfpm (33.5–57.9 m/min)
HSS tools: 35–95 sfpm (10.7–29.0 m/min)
Feed rate: 0.008–0.035 ipr (0.20–0.89 mm/rev)
Incoloy 800 offers good weldability across standard welding processes. The material must be clean, and proper joint design should be followed.
Recommended consumables:
Shielded metal arc welding: Inco-Weld A electrode
GTAW / GMAW / SAW: Filler Metal 82
Submerged arc: Incoflux 4 flux
These are suitable for most similar and dissimilar welding applications involving Incoloy 800.
All material must be clean prior to heating. Contaminants such as oil, grease, or paint should be removed. Heating should be carried out in a low-sulfur atmosphere.
Due to chromium oxidation, Incoloy 800 cannot be bright annealed in standard furnaces. Under controlled conditions, bright annealing can be performed in dry hydrogen atmosphere with strict dew point control.
