Manufacturing of Alloy Steel P5 Pipes

Heat Treatment Conditions for ASTM A335 Grade P5 Chrome Moly Pipes

ASTM A335 P5 seamless pipes are furnished in the following heat-treated conditions as specified by the purchaser:

Full Annealed

Heated above the transformation temperature and slowly furnace-cooled to below the critical range.

Isothermal Annealed

Cooled to and held at a controlled sub-critical temperature, then air-cooled.

Normalized and Tempered

Air-cooled from the austenitising temperature, then reheated to a minimum of 675 degrees C.

Subcritical Annealed

Heated to a minimum of 675 degrees C and air-cooled (applicable for P5b and P5c sub-grades).
