Stainless Steel 304 Seamless Pipe
The nominal bore size range of the stainless steel 304 seamless pipe is ½ to 16 inches. The sizes of electric resistance welded (ERW) pipes range from ½ to 24 inches. Our Electric Fusion Welded (EFW) pipes are available with nominal bore sizes ranging from 6 inches to 100 inches for greater diameter applications. All of the pipes range in size from 1/8 inch to 30 inches.
Stainless Steel 304 Welded Pipe
The AWS specification A535 permits the use of older weld techniques. The stainless steel 304 welded pipe can range from a narrow piece of sheet or strip. Seamless, welded or LSAW pipes can be found in different shapes with round, square, rectangular and hydraulic types.
Grades Overview of Stainless Steel Pipes:
304 stainless steel pipes are available in grades, depending on the required properties of the material. A few of the most common grades include:
Stainless Steel 304 Pipes
Grade ss 304 pipe is a classic stainless alloy which provides an optimal balance of strength, ductility and resistance to corrosion. Often chosen for architectural, industrial, and domestic implementations, this grade serves as the benchmark in multifaceted environments.

Selecting the correct combination of pipe size and schedule is critical for achieving desired pressure ratings, flow rates, and structural integrity. Thicker schedules increase strength and pressure resistance, but also add weight and cost. This chart makes it easier to match project needs with industry-standard dimensions, ensuring both performance and cost efficiency.
When choosing stainless steel exhaust pipes, it’s essential to match outer diameter, wall thickness, and schedule rating with your application’s temperature, pressure, and durability requirements. The chart below details the standard sizes, schedules, and weights for ASTM A312 TP304, making it easier for buyers to select the right option for both performance and cost-effectiveness.
Choosing the correct exhaust pipe dimensions is critical for ensuring proper airflow, reducing back pressure, and maintaining long-term corrosion resistance. The wall thickness and schedule directly affect durability and weight, which can impact both installation ease and system performance. For high-temperature or high-pressure exhaust systems, opt for thicker schedules to enhance service life.
Weight Chart of Stainless Steel 304/304L/304H Pipes & Tubes
When purchasing stainless steel pipes and tubes, weight is a key factor influencing both material cost and structural performance. This chart provides a quick reference for buyers to compare nominal sizes, wall thickness (WT), and weight per meter across different schedules. Understanding these values helps in estimating load-bearing capacity, transportation requirements, and project budgeting.

Heavier schedules and wall thicknesses improve pressure resistance and mechanical strength, but they also increase material weight and cost. Buyers should balance performance needs with budget constraints. For high-pressure industrial systems, higher schedules like 80S, 160S, or XXS may be the preferred choice for long-term durability.
304/304l/304h SS Schedule 40 Pipe Standard Weight Chart
When selecting stainless steel pipes for industrial projects, knowing the exact wall thickness and weight is crucial for accurate load calculations, compliance with piping standards, and cost planning. The table below provides standard weight details for Schedule 40 pipes in 304, 304L, and 304H stainless steel grades, helping buyers make precise procurement decisions.

This data allows buyers to match pipe size and schedule to the required pressure capacity, ensuring safe operation in applications such as structural framing, mechanical systems, and process piping. Choosing the right combination of OD, wall thickness, and weight not only improves safety but also optimizes material costs and long-term performance.
For precision applications, the outer diameter tolerance of stainless steel tubes is critical to ensure proper fit, sealing, and performance in assemblies. The table below lists standard tolerances as per ASTM A312 TP304 specifications.
Stainless Steel 304 Pipe OD (mm)
ASTM A312 TP304 Pipe Tolerance (± mm)
4 to 35 mm
± 0.08 mm
35 to 38 mm
± 0.15 mm
38 to 60 mm
± 0.20 mm
60 mm and above
± 0.25 mm
Tighter tolerances mean better dimensional accuracy, which is essential for high-pressure systems, welded assemblies, and OEM manufacturing. Selecting the right tolerance ensures easier installation, improved sealing performance, and reduced rework or rejection rates during fabrication.

Stainless steel 304 pipe's weight is calculated using one formula which is P=t(D−t)×C. Where: t = Thickness (mm or inches) D = Outer Diameter (inches) C = Specific weight of 304 stainless steel (0.287lbs/in3)
304 stainless steel is good quality. It has excellent anti-corrosive property, good formability and good strength hence it is a popular and widely used stainless steel grade. 304 is indeed a very capable and often more economical choice for a wide array of applications.
The primary difference depends on their chemical composition. 316 stainless steel includes molybdenum roughly 2% which boosts its corrosion resistance especially against chlorides and acids compared to 304. Visually they appear very similar.
304 stainless steel contains about 18% chromium and 8% of nickel. It is popularly known as 18/8 stainless steel.
304L has less carbon and more 0.03% for enhanced weldability. 304H has maximum carbon content 0.04 - 0.10% for higher strength at elevated temperatures including chemical resistance up to 925°C.
Designed for use demanding great strength under harsh temperature, a 304H pipe is a high carbon variant of 304 stainless steel.
The main difference is the carbon content. 304L's lower carbon level improves weldability and reduces the risk of sensitization, while 304 offers slightly higher strength but is more exposed to hostile environments during soldering.
Suitable for utensils like sinks and saucepans, stainless steel 304L is a low carbon austenitic grade with great weldability and uniformity for deep drawing process manufacture.
We offer a comprehensive range of 304 stainless steel pipes and tubes. We may cut them to your precise proportions or provide them in conventional sizes. Purchasing directly from us makes getting what you need quite simple.
