Inconel 718 pipes are manufactured from a precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy containing over 50% nickel along with niobium and molybdenum. This composition offers great structural strength and stability in a harsh working environment.

The alloy has superior mechanical service over a broad temperature band, down to cryogenic service at about 700 o C (1200 F).
