Inconel 718 pipes are manufactured from a precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy containing over 50% nickel along with niobium and molybdenum. This composition offers great structural strength and stability in a harsh working environment.
The alloy has superior mechanical service over a broad temperature band, down to cryogenic service at about 700 o C (1200 F). The use of Inconel 718 in the areas where pressure, heat, and mechanical stress are of paramount importance has made it very popular due to its high tensile and yield strength, fatigue resistance, and durability.
The pipes are often used in the aerospace systems, turbine parts, oil and gas, and the high-pressure industrial assemblies.
