Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The Nickel Pipe Fittings is produced in accordance with ASTM B366 and ASME SB366.Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) and Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) are used as main grades.Dimensions are in compliance with ASME/ANSI B16.9, B16.28 and MSS SP43.They come in seamless and welded, and 1/2 to 48 inch NB.

The most important is the carbon content.Nickel 200 includes a maximum of 0.15 percent carbon whereas Nickel 201 includes 0.02 percent maximum. It uses nickel 200 at temperatures below 315 degrees C (600 degrees F).The range of temperature at which nickel 201 is preferred is 315 degrees C and above to prevent graphitization and intergranular embrittlement at high temperatures.

Nickel Alloy pipe fittings are employed in chemical processing of caustic alkali, food and pharmaceutical sector, electronics and semiconductor, aerospace and defence, oil and gas sour service, nuclear generation in power plants and high temperatures metallurgy.

Types available are 45 and 90 degree elbows, 180 degree bends, equal and reducing tees, concentric and eccentric reducer, end caps, stub ends, crosses, 2D, 3D, 5D and 10D radii bends on pipes. There are also tube union fittings, male and female connector, and hydraulic fittings.

Nickel Pipe Fittings may be welded using standard TIG, MIG and metal arc methods.Preheating is not a requirement. At a temperature beyond 315 degrees C, Nickel 201 can be used. The fabrication and further service of the material in question should be done without any sulphur-containing materials on the surface
