ASTM B163 Inconel 718 Tube Suppliers, Alloy 718 Seamless Tubing Stockist

Excellent welding is one of the strongest properties of the alloy, according to leading Inconel 718 tube suppliers, and the alloy Inconel UNS N07718 heat exchanger tube can be welded either in the annealed state or in the aged state, and even when welding age-hardened material is necessary, the proper procedure helps to retain the properties constant even though welding age-hardened material might cause a softened heat-affected zone. ASW Nickel based alloys like ASTM B163 Inconel 718 tubing are suitable in strenuous condenser and heat-exchanger service, with the specification including outside diameter with either an average or minimum wall thickness as per ASTM B163 / AMS 5589 to make such tubes a good choice to implement in the critical Inconel heat exchanger and condenser tube applications.

In addition to dimensional tolerance, Alloy 718 tubing needs to meet all the furnishing and mechanical requirements in the standard such as tensile, yield strength, rounding, elongation, and rockwell hardness which are established through chemical analysis, stress checks, and grain size examination, rounding checks and hardness conversion and other rigorous testing on bright annealed tubes. One of the unique characteristics of this Gamma Prime strengthened alloy is that it has better mechanical strength between -423 degF and 1300 degF and high oxidation resistance at high temperature, thus Alloy 718 condenser and heat-exchanger tubes made following ASTM B163 are important in large-scale systems which require recovery of waste heat.

Process conditions, such as temperature, flow, viscosity, density, pressure, phase, and chemistry, are much more variable in such industries as wastewater treatment, nuclear power, petroleum refining, refrigeration and even wine and beer production, with the Inconel 718 seamless and welded tubes to provide reliable service in a process, long life and resistance to oxidation up to approximately 1800 degF. With subsequent adherence to ASTM B163 and ASME SB 163 UNS N07718 guidelines, and the incorporation of Inconel 718 tubing and other related products, including Inconel 718 pipes and other high-performance Inconel tubes, cost-efficient, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly heat-transfer solutions are attained by these systems.

What is Inconel 718 Tube?

Inconel 718 (Werkstoff Nr. 2.4668) is a nickel-based superalloy that is precipitation-hardened and is utilized where exceptionally high yield strength, tensile strength and good creep-rupture resistance is needed. It also has outstanding corrosion and oxidation protection and Inconel 718 electropolished tubing can be efficiently utilized up to approximately 1300degF (704degC) and remains reliable.

Alloy 718 Tubing Applications

Within the industry , the Inconel 718 steel tubes are popular where elements have to withstand the pressure of high temperature and corrosive chemicals in long service durations. Common uses are cracking furnace tubes and catalytic reactor coils in petrochemical plants, high temperature medium transmission lines and high density bundle of heat-exchange tubes in process heaters and boilers. They also serve as structural pipes of fixtures, high temperature related connecting pipes of gas turbine waste-heat boilers and other sensitive petrochemical apparatus where dependability and thermal stability are valued.

What is the Difference Between Inconel and Incoloy ?

The primary distinction between Inconel and Incoloy is their composition and hence their performance. Its mainly nickel-chromium alloy that is approximately 50 percent or higher nickel content makes it very strong and resistant to oxidation that happens at very high temperatures. Incoloy is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing less than 50% nickel which makes it cheaper and more applicable to high-temperature applications where corrosion, but not extreme heat is the main consideration.
