The Alloy Steel Chrome Moly Flanges are forged pipe fittings made from alloy steel with chromium molybdenum. This piping product exhibits the strength and ability to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures in industrial applications. The most common grades of these flanges are ASTM A182 F5, F9, F11, F22, and F91. The grades are chosen based on their chemical makeup and mechanical properties. They are extensively used in thermal power plants, oil refineries, petrochemical plants, and steam pipes that require high temperatures. The alloy steel chrome moly flanges come in different pressure rating, sizes, and faces and should conform to the relevant specifications for materials and heat treatment. Solitaire Overseas is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of alloy steel chrome moly flanges in India.

An alloy steel chrome moly flange is a forged piping component made from chromium-molybdenum steel for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Chrome moly is a trade term for the chromium-molybdenum family, not a specification. It covers ASTM A182 grades from F11 at 1.25Cr-0.5Mo up to F91 at 9Cr-1Mo-V. Alloy steel is the broader category, which also includes nickel and other alloy systems. A purchase order should always name an ASTM grade rather than the trade term.
ASTM A182 (ASME SA182) covers forged alloy steel flanges for high-temperature service, including grades F5, F9, F11, F12, F22, and F91.
F22 is a forged alloy steel grade used for flanges and fittings under ASTM A182, while P22 is a pipe grade covered by ASTM A335. Both have similar chromium-molybdenum compositions.
AISI 4130 and 4140 are mainly used for mechanical components. Pressure-retaining flanges generally require suitable grades specified under standards such as ASTM A182.
PWHT may be required after welding to reduce residual stresses and control hardness. Requirements depend on the material grade, thickness, welding procedure, and applicable code.
