Copper Nickel Heat Exchanger and Condenser Tubes Supplier | Cu-Ni Tubes Manufacturer in India

What Are Copper Nickel Heat Exchanger and Condenser Tubes?

Solitaire Overseas is a Mumbai-based manufacturer and exporter of copper nickel heat exchanger tubes and copper nickel condenser tubes, supplying power, marine, oil and gas, and desalination industries in 50+ countries. We were founded in 2000, and have a strong history of punctual delivery and adherence to international quality standards. We offer Cu-Ni heat exchanger tubes that comply with ASTM B338 / ASME SB338 standards, seamless and welded types and 90/10 and 70/30 alloys.

Cu-Ni heat exchanger tubes are renowned for their excellent corrosion, erosion, and abrasion resistance in hostile environments such as seawater, brackish water, chlorides, sulfides and alkalis. The alloy combines high strength with excellent weldability and workability. The seawater resistant Cu-Ni alloys obtain their high resistance to seawater attack by the addition of iron (1.0 to 1.8%) and manganese to stabilise the oxide film that is formed on the surface of the tube. This is the reason why copper nickel condenser tubes are the world's preferred choice for marine heat exchangers, desalination evaporators and power plant condensers.

Cu-Ni is highly stable and a good thermal conductor. It has a high melting point and high thermal expansion coefficient, making it ideal for temperature control in heaters. Cu-Ni heat exchanger tubes are also immune to pitting, crevice and stress corrosion cracking and are well suited to chemical environments containing chlorides, sulfides, alkalis and other aggressive chemicals.

Trusted by EPC contractors, shipyards, and power utilities across 50+ countries including the USA, UAE, Germany, and South Korea.

Copper Nickel Heat Exchanger and Condenser Tubes: Application Industries

  • Power Plants: Copper nickel condenser tubes are widely used in steam surface condensers due to their excellent resistance to erosion-corrosion and long service life in high-flow cooling systems.
  • Marine and Offshore: 90/10 Cu-Ni heat exchanger tubes are extensively used in seawater cooling, shipbuilding, and offshore platforms due to their natural resistance to biofouling.
  • Desalination: 70/30 copper nickel tubes are preferred in high-salinity and high-velocity brine environments in MSF and RO plants.
  • Oil and Gas: Suitable for offshore cooling systems, hydrocarbon processing, and sour gas environments where corrosion resistance is critical.
  • Chemical Industry: Performs well in chloride-rich and chemically aggressive process streams.
  • Food Processing: Copper alloys offer antimicrobial properties, making them suitable for hygienic heat transfer applications.
  • Heating & HVAC: Widely used in industrial heat exchangers, refrigeration systems, and condensers.

Quality Assurance of Copper Nickel Heat Exchanger and Condenser Tubes

All copper nickel heat exchanger and condenser tubes undergo mandatory testing in accordance with ASTM B338 requirements, including hydrostatic testing, dimensional inspection (outside diameter, wall thickness, length), eddy current testing for seamless tubes, PMI (Positive Material Identification), and mechanical testing (tensile and hardness). Mill Test Certificates (MTC) to EN 10204 3.1 are issued with every order. Third-party inspection by SGS, BV, or TUV is accommodated on request.

ISO 9001:2015 certified. Products conform to ASTM B338 / ASME SB338. Third-party inspection by SGS, BV, or TUV is available on request.

Test parameters covered at Solitaire Overseas include thermal performance testing, natural circulation stability tests, mechanical testing, hardness testing, positive material identification, chemical analysis, destructive and non-destructive testing, intergranular corrosion testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, pitting corrosion testing, and visual inspection.

Packaging of Copper Nickel Heat Exchanger and Condenser Tubes

All copper nickel heat exchanger tubes are bundled, plugged at both ends, and wrapped in moisture-resistant polyethylene film before packing. Outer packaging uses wooden boxes, crates, pallets, and cartons as required by destination and order size. Export packing complies with ISPM-15 phytosanitary requirements for wooden crates. Additional cushioning is placed to prevent movement and mechanical damage during transit and export shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions: Copper Nickel Heat Exchanger Tubes

90/10 (C70600) offers excellent corrosion resistance at lower cost and is the standard for most marine and industrial heat exchanger applications. 70/30 (C71500) provides higher tensile strength and superior resistance to high-velocity and polluted seawater, making it the preferred grade for desalination evaporators and naval condensers. Both grades are available from Solitaire Overseas in seamless and welded forms.

The primary standard is ASTM B338 (Seamless and Welded Copper and Copper-Alloy Heat-Exchanger and Condenser Tubes). The ASME equivalent is SB338. European buyers may reference EN 12451. Naval and defence procurement in the UK uses DEF STAN 02-779. JIS 3463 covers Japanese market requirements. All these standards are supported by Solitaire Overseas.

Yes. Cu-Ni alloys form a natural protective oxide film that inhibits biofouling organisms including barnacles, molluscs, and algae. This makes copper nickel condenser tubes the preferred choice for marine condensers and shipboard heat exchangers where chemical anti-fouling treatment is undesirable or restricted.

ASTM B338 Cu-Ni tubes are typically rated for continuous service up to 315°C (600°F). For high-pressure feedwater heaters or applications above this range, please share your design temperature and pressure with our technical team for confirmation.

Heat exchanger tubes are available from 10 mm OD to 50.8 mm OD with wall thickness from 0.70 mm to 8.00 mm. Condenser tubes are available from 6 mm OD to 219.1 mm OD with wall thickness from 0.7 mm to 12.7 mm. Custom dimensions are produced to order. Standard lengths are up to 20 metres (65.62 ft).

Yes. Mill Test Certificates to EN 10204 3.1 are issued as standard with every order. Third-party inspection and certification by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TUV Rheinland can be arranged on request prior to dispatch.
