CuNi 70/30 refers to alloy of 70% copper and 30% nickel together with additions of iron and manganese. It has very good corrosion resistance in seawater, tensile strength of 415 MPa minimum, excellent fabricability, biofouling resistance, and excellent weldability, which does not require any special precaution during fabrication.
CuNi 70/30 Pipe Fittings are produced in accordance with ASTM B466 and ASME SB466 on seamless fittings and ASTM B467 on those fittings that are to be welded.Dimensions are in compliance with ASME/ANSI B16.9, B16.28, and MSS SP43.UNS is C71500, DIN designation is 2.0882 and EN designation is CuNi30Mn1Fe.
In CuNi 70/30, the amount of nickel was 30% compared to 10 percent in 90/10.This provides 70/30 with greater resistance to corrosion and erosion in high velocity and polluted sea water, a little higher yield strength, and enhanced adaptability to exacting uses.CuNi 90/10 is less expensive and can be used generally in the marine and industry.
Yes. Copper Nickel 70/30 fittings are not hard to weld. The typical TIG and MIG welding procedures can be used and no preheat is normally necessary. The alloy can also be cold worked and fabricated with a lot of ease and therefore, installation and maintenance are easily achieved in the field.
Copper Nickel 70/30 Pipe Fittings come in NB sizes 1/2 inch to 48 inch.Up to 10 inch NB seamless fittings are available.Fabricated and welded types range between 1/2 to 48 inch. Schedules range from 5 to XXS. Bend radius includes 1D, 3D, 5D and 10D and sizes are customised upon request.
